Folding Template

You want your own Trojan Horse? Simply build it out of paper!

We provide the folding template, and all you need is a printer, strong paper (in your color of choice), an x-acto knife, a ruler, tape and about two hours worth Trojan-Horse spirit! There are 11 individual body parts (head, neck+mane, chest, leg1, leg2, torso1, torso2, leg3, leg4, butt, tail) that you assemble by cutting out template forms. And then it’s just a small step to complete the puzzle by taping all body parts together – and voila! You have your own Trojan Horse!

TEMPLATE: trojanhorse_folded.pdf

Instructions

  1. Download the template: trojanhorse_folded.pdf (130 kB)
  2. Print it out on thick strong paper – print on Letter size, and your horse will be 35cm high, print on A3 and it will be 50cm high!
  3. Use knife and ruler to cut along the outer edges (numbered markers are only indicators and don’t need to be cut out)
  4. Slightly score the inner lines with the knife – to ease folding along straight edges.
  5. Fold and tape the individual body parts (you can use the tape on the inside or outside – however you seem fit)
  6. Combine and tape all body parts (if unclear check numbered markers to indicate which edges should merge)
  7. Tape the lose tail onto the back of the horse (it connects to the horse’s body over a single dimensionless point!)
  8. Make sure the horse looks as proper and proud as it should!
  9. Take it out and show it off!
  10. Take pictures! Of you and the horse! Of the horse in the sandbox! Of the horse in all sorts of inappropriate situations!
  11. Send us those pictures!! We’d love to see them and would love to show them off!
